Robert Kinney
Robert began working at the Charles Simeon Trust in 2005 after several years of involvement at Holy Trinity Church. A native of Illinois, Robert earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Christian Literature at the University of Chicago. His BA thesis was on idolatry in Paul's epistle to the church in Rome. In 2008, Robert earned a master's degree in Communications (Journalism) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also served formally as an intern at Holy Trinity Church for six years (2002-2008). In addition to his work with the Charles Simeon Trust, Robert also serves as the University Minister at Holy Trinity Church's Hyde Park congregation.

Robert is presently working on a doctoral dissertation on the Greco-Roman background to the Gospel of Matthew at the University of Bristol. He is married to Angela, a PhD candidate in Classics and Medieval Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Robert is primarily responsible for the operations of the Charles Simeon Trust. His job consists mainly of three things: 1) strategic thinking and planning for executing the vision of the Trust, 2) working with the other staff members on the design and implementation of the Trust's communications and institutional partnership strategies, and 3) oversight of the administration of the various initiatives of the Trust. He reports to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors and he supervises the other staff members.
